The Graduate Certificate of Tourism Management is designed specifically for business professionals requiring specialist tourism knowledge. It provides the opportunity to develop new skills or upgrade knowledge in tourism management. The course addresses the challenges for sustainable tourism and effective destination management, as well as global issues relating to tourism.This course is not offered to International students.
Throughout the course, emphasis is placed on the acquisition of strategic planning skills for tourism development, management and marketing.

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor's degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.Applicants without a degree require eight years' full-time relevant work experience and evidence of a general capacity to undertake tertiary education.The English proficiency requirement for local applicants with international qualifications is for Academic IELTS score or TOEFL score, with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64; or CAE: 58-66.Eligibility for admission does not guarantee offer of a place.
In future it is anticipated that the Graduate Certificate in Tourism Management will articulate into the Master of Tourism Management. This course is accredited by the Fellow Australian Institute of Travel and Tourism (AFAITT).
Career options include management, marketing and policy-analysis roles in national and regional tourism offices, hotels, airlines, tour operators, tourist attractions and events.
