A Master of Engineering Science research degree enables a candidate to undertake a program of research and advanced study in a specialist engineering field, such as Electrical Power and Control Systems, Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, Civil, Geotechnical, Environmental and Biomedical. All candidates for a Masters degree are also required to enrol concurrently in two units in the Graduate Certificate of Research.
General knowledge about Engineering and its application as a combined study with Science.
The major studies provided in this course are focused to give the graduates an essay/research project that shows evidence of critical analysis and understanding on a topic approved by the student’s supervisor and acknowledged by the program coordinator.
Applicants should apply after finding a potential supervisor and discussing and agreeing on their proposed topic. Applicants will be considered who have an honours degree with at least second class lower standard; or a masters degree with a minimum research component (eg a thesis); or substantial demonstrated sector experience, previous higher education studies and professional experience and/or published research work. International applicants must also meet the University's English language requirements for admission are an IELTS overall score,a minimum total score together with a Test of Written English (TWE)  on the paper based TOEFL,a minimum total score of the internet based TOEFL,PTE Academic 58 with no score lower than 50,completion of a course of study, of at least two years’ duration, from an accredited University in a country where English is an official language.The study must have been instructed and examined in English. Studies must have been completed within the last two years and evidence in the form of a letter or certificate issued by the university Registrar’s office will need to be provided.
This course is accredited by the Engineers Australia.
A Master of Engineering Science degree provides an entry to a Doctorate at a University, and graduates are also highly sought after for positions across the spectrum of available careers such as a Specialist Technical and Consulting Engineering, Engineering Management and Research and Development.
