Geology is the study of the interacting systems of the solid Earth, atmosphere, hydrosphere, and biosphere as they evolve through time. Geologists discover, develop, and responsibly manage minerals, energy, and other Earth resources. Geological knowledge underpins our capacity to ensure a sustainable supply of natural resources and the use of these resources responsibly, and it is essential for solving environmental challenges such as global climate change. The course cover a spectrum of topics relevant to the exploration mining industries.
Core knowledge about Geology and its related study areas.
The course objectives are to increase and update the knowledge and skills required by geoscientists for the exploration and exploitation of mineral deposits. The courses will cover a spectrum of topics relevant to the exploration mining industries.
The entry requirement is a BSc(Hons) majoring in the geosciences.
The UTAS program is part of the G4 National Masters course. The course is accredited by the Australian Institute of Geoscientists (AIG).
