This degree explores a range of contemporary issues affecting Australian Indigenous peoples' life experiences and aspirations. It provides students with opportunities to engage with both the resilient nature of Australian Indigenous cultures as well as contemporary forms of Indigenous cultural expression, including song, dance, story, art, film and theatre.
General knowledge about Aboriginals and their importance in Australian culture.
A range of interdisciplinary conceptual tools are utilised, including critical race theory and emerging Indigenous critical theory, to further the project of decolonising knowledges on and about Indigenous peoples. In so doing, the degree also encourages students to examine the issues of personal and national identity, and the relationship between these, themselves and Aboriginality.

The graduates after the successful completion can become eligible for the membership of Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) .
The graduates after the completion of the course can achieve career opportunities are as a Policy Advisors/ Policy Researcher, Correctional Treatment Specialist, Social Worker, Government departments, health services, legal services, museums, schools and universities, Aboriginal land councils and other Indigenous organisations.
