European Studies explores the cultures and societies of contemporary Europe and the social, cultural and political developments which generated the Europe of today. The European Studies equips students with the knowledge and skills to understand one of the most important players in the global environment: Europe. It provides information on and analysis of the cultures and societies of contemporary Europe and the social, cultural and political developments which generated the Europe of today, including both the European Union and the ‘Europe’ of tradition and history. European Studies can be studied as a major within the Bachelor of Arts, a second major with any of the other degrees or taken as elective or broadening units.
