The Faculty believes that significant graduate outcomes will include an ability to plan and manage successfully in an increasingly complex and turbulent national and international environment, within the framework of societal values.The Master of Business Administration provides a basis for the development of a career in management for graduates. All the study units are subject to formal assessment normally including assignments and a final examination. The graduates can act as an agent of change in the organizational transformation.
General knowledge about Business Administration.
The broad aims of the course are to assist course participants to become better managers by providing them with a basic understanding of the broad body of knowledge of a number of different management disciplines.The course will award each graduate with an analytical,innovative and ethical approach in seeking new business opportunities.
The Faculty of Business may accept as a candidate for the Master of Business Administration any of the following a person who has completed an undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution, and has had at least two years' appropriate work experience or the equivalent with the approval of the Dean as delegated to the course coordinator,OR,a person who has satisfactorily completed the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration of the University of Tasmania or an equivalent award of another Australian higher education institution.For entry into all postgraduate courses, international students must provide an IELTS test score or a TOEFL score or with a Test of Written English score.This test must not be more than 24 months old. At the discretion of the Faculty, admission may also include an interview.
The Graduates of the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration may receive full credit.This course articulates with Master of Business Administration (Specialisation). This course is accredited by the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Australia.
The graduates after the completion of the course can seek jobs in various fields such as Commerce and Industry with Large Private Companies joining a GraduateTraining Scheme,Small to Medium sized Companies filling a Management or Management Trainee position,growth Service Industries such as the Distribution Industry, Leisure Industry and Financial Services,Businesses as a Retail Store Manager, Sales Representative, Financial Adviser or Department Manager,careers in Government, Semi-Government and Non-Profit Organisations include positions as Section or Department Managers.
