The Master of Business Administration (Professional) provides both broad management knowledge and skills to a particular field of practice. The course includes a core of common business studies to give a firm grounding in management skills, while allowing study in a particular field of expertise. This may include an academic education in a field in which the student is working (such as agriculture, health or tourism) OR an opportunity for specialised study in a non-Business academic area, such as History of Government.The modes of delivery for units in a professional specialisation depend on the specialisation chosen.The educational objectives of the professional portion of the degree will depend on the discipline, but may include further professional training in a field in which the student already holds a bachelor's degree academic education in a field in which the student is working,or an opportunity for specialised study in a non-Business academic area.
General knowledge about Business Administration.
The Faculty of Business may accept a candidate for the Master of Business Administration (Professional) if applicant satisfy any of the following criteria such as:- A person who has completed an undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution, and has had at least two years' appropriate work experience or the equivalent with the approval of the Dean as delegated to the course coordinator OR a person who has satisfactorily completed the Graduate Certificate of Management (Professional) of the University of Tasmania or an equivalent award of another Australian higher education institution.For entry into all postgraduate courses, international students must provide an IELTS test score or a TOEFL score of with a Test of Written English score.This test must not be more than 24 months old.At the discretion of the Faculty, admission may also include an interview.
This course articulates from the Graduate Certificate of Management (Professional). Depending on the professional specialisation chosen and the units selected in the previous degrees, This course may articulate from the Graduate Certificate in Corporate Governance, the Graduate Certificate in Business, the Graduate Certificate in Arts (History), and the Graduate Certificate in Management.Whilst it is anticipated that this course will assist students in gaining professional recognition in their chosen field of specialisation, there are no formal arrangements in place. This course is accredited by the Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Australia.
The specialization will offer students the ability to enhance their employment prospects with specialisations in Marketing, Advanced Accounting, Corporate Governance, Finance or Information Systems.
