This course is designed to provide training to students who want to work in residential aged care facilities and for community care. Students who undertake this qualification will gain the skills and knowledge necessary to provide services to individuals with special or complex needs and work with the elderly and disabled to lead more dignified lives. This course combines both theory and practical training. Students will also learn to organize and supervise social and cultural activates, assist with administrative tasks, provide support and assistance with residents daily routine and sort and clean equipment. A combination of face-to-face delivery, self-paced learning and workplace training. The course objective is to assist students with self-paced learning, the re-enforcements of face-to-face delivery and to generate a wider learning community for all students. International Students need to attend supervised studies on campus for 4 hours per week.
