This course aims to prepare students to work in client homes and other community settings under regular supervision within clearly defined organizational guidelines and service plans. This course combines both theory and practical training to students. At the end of the course, students should have the skills to carry out activities to maintain personal care and/or other activities of living for people in their own homes or in other community settings. Student should know how to carry out activities related to an individualized plan and report directly to a supervisor and are not responsible for other workers.This program is delivered with total hours of 486 made up of Self-paced learning 162 hours, classroom based face to face delivery environment of 164 hours and with a minimum of 120 hours of workplace training in an appropriate aged care environment. International students are required to undertake 8 weeks or 160 hours of workplace training.
