RMIT architecture has an international reputation for design excellence and is primarily focused on design. This program, the first step on the path to becoming a design architect, helps to develop an understanding of architecture and provides with a diverse set of skills and learning experiences. The graduate will focus on learning the core skills of an architect and architectural designer and intensively develop a broad grounding in design and communication skills . RMIT architecture graduates are design innovators who continue to achieve at the highest levels and are acknowledged by the architectural profession both nationally and internationally. RMIT architecture students recently won the Cumulus Green Award in Shanghai and the Architecture Australia (AA) Unbuilt Architecture Award.
Basic study of physics and Mathematics
In this course the major studies include an understanding of architecture and provides you with a diverse set of skills and learning experiences. You will focus on learning the core skills of an architect and architectural designer and intensively develop a broad grounding in design and communication skills.
Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 80%.For information on international qualifications and corresponding entry requirements that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12, see the Entry requirements by country web page. Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.
Graduates may be employed in an architectural practice or a related design field, but in order to be professionally recognised as an architect graduates are required to complete the Master of Architecture. Completion of the Master of Architecture will allow you, following two years professional experience, to sit the Architects Registration Board examination and register as an architect in Australia.
Graduates will be employed by architecture, design and building practices in the private and public domain. In small to medium-sized practices, graduates will be engaged in a broad range of practice activities, from design to project management. Large architectural firms often encompass a number of disciplines and have offices or projects occurring overseas
