Our Master of Animal Science (Animal Breeding Management) is a distance course designed for working professionals, offered online with short residential sessions in Sydney and Amidala. This course is developed in response to a rapidly changing science and agricultural environment, this course combines theoretical and applied animal genetics with the skills required to participate in the enormous changes currently taking place in animal industries. This course focuses on providing students with advanced knowledge of human and organizational behavior, communication, leadership, change management and a range of leadership and managerial skills while participating in teams to solve technical problems in animal genetics, breeding and biotechnology.
Basic study of science and major studies in Biology.
In this course the major studies combines theoretical and applied animal genetics with the skills required to participate in the enormous changes currently taking place in animal industries. This course focuses on providing students with advanced knowledge of human and organisational behaviour, communication, leadership, change management and a range of leadership and managerial skills while participating in teams to solve technical problems in animal genetics, breeding and biotechnology.
A successful applicant for admission to the Master of Animal Science (Animal Breeding Mangement) will:(a) hold a bachelor’s degree or higher award with a minimum credit average from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification, in veterinary science, animal science or agriculture; or (b) have completed the requirements of an embedded graduate certificate or graduate diploma in this discipline from the University of Sydney, or equivalent qualification.Some previous study in genetics will be necessary. Postgraduate coursework at the Faculty of Veterinary Science provides an opportunity for students wishing to progress to a higher degree by research in veterinary science.
