RMITs Art in Public Space program is among the first of its kind in the world. It addresses the art in public space issues that are central to current international cultural debate. In this course Students will gain a broad theoretical and historical understanding of art in public spaces discourses and practices. The program examines current definitions of real and virtual public space and trains to deal with the practical and theoretical problems that arise from art in this particular situation.

Successful completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent. Applicants with significant work experience or professional practice may also be considered.
The program, the first of its kind in Australia, was initiated by a Program Development Committee including representatives from the fine arts, architecture, geography, urban planning, art history and theory, and arts administration.
Graduates will be equipped to produce public art projects in professional environments. After completing graduation , Graduates will be acquired expertise in art criticism and specialised arts management and graduates get opportunity to receive the training needed to act as client representatives and project, business and site managers in public art.
The Master incorporates the Graduate Diploma and Graduate Certificate qualifications.1.5 years full
