This course help student to gain textile technology expertise and training in research techniques and methodologies in a selected area while adding to the body of knowledge in the field and broadening your career options. Student can choose a research topic from a range of subject areas, including:advanced materials, nano fibres and nano technology, composite textiles, smart fibres, performance and sports apparel textiles, sustainability, CAD/CAM applications in textiles, fabric engineering, yarn development.

A recognised degree/program with Honours and/or relevant work experience.All Master applicants must have at least one of the following:a first degree from RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year, a recognised award deemed to be equivalent in character and standard to a first degree from RMIT with at least a credit average in the final undergraduate year, evidence of appropriate experience that satisfies the college/school that the applicant has developed knowledge of the field of study sufficient to undertake the proposed program.
RMITs School of Fashion and Textiles is currently seeking accreditation for worldwide recognised professional qualifications (like FTI, ATI and LTI) from Textile Institute UK.
Graduates from Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors would go on to work in the textile design industry or related fields. Employers of graduates from the existing BA Textile Design for Fashion and Interiors include, Liberty, The White Company, Bay & Brown, Lyle & Scott, Keeler Gordon, Debenhams, G.M Syntex, Relish Clothing, IVO Prints, Selfridges and Boden. Graduates from the existing MA Design programme have either embarked on successful careers, working as designers for high profile brands such as Kenzo, Etro, Balenciaga, John Lewis, Topshop and Wescott Design studio or have established small businesses including Tea-green, Anne Selby, Sam Pickard, Hewitt Studios, Jan Knibbs and Anna Gravelle.
2 years full-time or 4 years part-time.International student visa holders can only study full-time.
