In this course engineering science, practice and design is combined with core management principles. The focus is on industrial application, so fundamental engineering and management courses are linked to real situations. A business degree will prepare to operate in a complex financial system - one often associated with large engineering projects. Expect to be rapidly propelled into positions of responsibility and influence.

Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 70%. The Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), based in UK, is the primary international professional society for the chemical engineer. The double degree is accredited by IChemE (UK) at the MEng level.The Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical Engineering)/Bachelor of Business (Management) double degree is accredited by Engineers Australia. Graduates are eligible for graduate membership of Engineers Australia as a professional engineer.Students may also be able to obtain professional membership of the Australian Human Resources Institute (AHRI) and CPA Australia by selecting appropriate minor studies.

In Australia, the major areas of employment are: chemical, petroleum and petrochemicals, the food industry, water, environmental management and pollution control, mining, plastics/polymers, biomaterials and diagnostic agents, pharmaceuticals, vaccines, cosmetics, electricity and gas, project design and consulting. A chemical engineering graduate can work in areas from process and project engineering to marketing or research. With appropriate experience management degree will prepare for a range of additional roles in commercial, industrial and not-for-profit organisations.
