This program is at the forefront of engineering education and is designed to satisfy current industry demand. Civil and infrastructure engineers plan, design, construct, supervise, manage and maintain essential infrastructure in modern communities. They aim to be responsive to wider community needs and reflective of the values that relate to the economic, environmental and social impacts of projects. Civil and infrastructure engineers work with the environment. It uses natural resources for the benefit of the community. The program emphasizes work experience and project-based learning. Theres a broad range of electives so that student can customize studies to suit own interests. Graduates acquire good interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of engineering theory and the ability to apply learning and knowledge to a wide range of situations. We aim to provide innovative learning experiences with a strong emphasis on communication, teamwork and leadership.
Current Year 12 prerequisite units 3 and 4—Mathematical Methods (CAS) and a study score of at least 30 in English (ESL) or at least 25 in any other English.Completing Specialist Mathematics and/or Chemistry/Physics will earn selection credits.
In this course the major studies include development of good interpersonal skills, a solid understanding of engineering theory and the ability to apply learning and knowledge to a wide range of situations.
Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 65%. For information on international qualifications and corresponding entry requirements that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12, see the Entry requirements by country web page. Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.
This program is accredited by Engineers Australia and graduates are eligible to apply for graduate membership.
Graduates are employed as project managers, design engineers, construction managers, environmental engineers and engineering asset managers.
4 years full-time ,International student visa holders can only study full-time.
