Course Description
The course is aimed specifically at the needs of the architectural profession and aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, competencies and awareness, which are necessary for a graduate to practise architecture.

Major Studies
The course is aimed specifically at the needs of the architectural profession and aims to equip students with the knowledge, skills, competencies and awareness that are necessary for a graduate to practise architecture. To complete the MArch course successfully,the students are required to demonstrate competence in the analysis, synthesis, judgement and communication of architectural ideas and solutions, as well as the ability to apply successfully acquired theoretical knowledge and technical and professional skills.
Eligibility Criteria
To enter the Master of Architecture and Master of Architecture with Honours, applicants will have a Bachelor of Environmental Design with an Architecture major or an equivalent three-year undergraduate degree. Candidates should note that, because there are limited places available, the minimum requirements for admission will not automatically guarantee entry to the course.
Professional Accreditation
The MArch and MArchHons are recognised by the Australian Institute of Architects (AIA) as fulfilling the academic requirements for corporate membership. Graduates become eligible for registration by Australian Boards of Architects following an approved practical experience program and a pass in the Architectural Practice examination. Recognition by the AIA offers opportunities for international recognition of the professional qualification.
Career Prospectus
The architects may find a career in private architectural practice, government architectural offices, local government, performing arts, universities and large companies. Architects may be engaged in a wide range of tasks: commercial, residential, retail and civic building design brief writing, urban design, planning appeal submissions, representation and assessment, stage set and exhibition design,property and construction management. Many Australian graduates in architecture have established careers in various countries around the world.
