RMIT University

Our mechanical engineering research program at both the Master and Doctoral level are aligned with these main discipline areas: virtual engineering and design, industrial and vehicle aerodynamics, conservation and renewable energy (CARE), computational engineering (including CAD, FEA, CFD), applied heat and mass transfer, vehicle design and crashworthiness, engine and supercharger technologies, sports engineering, dynamics and control, noise vibration harshness. Each of these areas has a particular focus on the automotive and biomedical (including sports equipment) industries.
One of the following: Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Research degree or equivalent, Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Coursework degree or equivalent WITH a research component graded as a distinction (GPA of 3.00 out of
In the course the graduates will study virtual engineering and design, industrial and vehicle aerodynamics, conservation and renewable energy (CARE), computational engineering (including CAD, FEA, CFD), applied heat and mass transfer, vehicle design and crashworthiness, engine and supercharger technologies, sports engineering, dynamics and control, noise vibration harshness concepts as major studies.
Entry into a Research program at RMIT is not based solely on academic achievement and applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements to be considered for candidature.
This course is professionally and internationally recognised and are aligned with the demands of the global economy.
After pursuing this degree, Students get tremendous scope in mechanical engineering . With its wide scope of application, mechanical engineers remain always in demand, no matter which part of the world. You can also find job very easily in the following public sector industries such as Indian Railways, Indian Air force (Technical), Indian Army, Thermal power corporations etc.Since mechanical engineering is the broadest of all engineering fields, the job prospects on offer for skilled mechanical engineers are aplenty and unending. Mechanical engineers are required to design, test, manufacture, install, operate and maintain a wide array of machines and mechanical systems that are used in countless industries. These professionals can find employment both in the government and private sector undertakings.Major industries that employ mechanical engineers include automobiles, space research, aeronautical, energy and utilities, air conditioning, bio-mechanical industry. Other major employers include giant manufacturing plants, air conditioning and refrigeration industry, turbine manufacturing plants, oil and gas exploration and refining industries and the agricultural sector. In the government sector, mechanical engineers can provide their knowledge to various government run projects in the role of technical experts and consultants. They can also work in private engineering companies that provide technical consultancy to both government and corporate firms. These engineers can also hold high managerial positions in government as well as private sector organisations according to their field of expertise and educational qualifications.
