The Master of Professional Accounting is a conversion program that aims to provide graduates from non-accounting backgrounds with training in accounting and related areas while meeting the full academic requirements for membership to the Australian professional accounting bodies. This course provides students with the technical and conceptual skills required to become a competent accountant and will develop students' abilities to analyze, critique and synthesize various accounting and related principles, methods and techniques. The skills and knowledge gained in the program prepare students to be effective accountants, managers and financial analysts. Students completing this program and the examinations conducted by CPA Australia satisfy the educational requirements for CPA membership and will be eligible for full CPA membership upon completion of three years of mentored work experience.

Major studies include Accounting principles, Auditing ,taxation ,relevant areas of business law,financial management. Students can also examine the development and communication of information relating to the financial performance of organisations, learn to prepare reports and give advice on an organisation's record-keeping and compliance requirements.
After pursuing this degree from Griffith university students get accreditation by The Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICAA) and CPA Australia recognizes graduates of this award.
Students will be qualified for employment opportunities in financial and company accounting, government administration, business planning, cost and management accounting, auditing, information systems, taxation, finance and banking, stockbroking, treasury, foreign exchange, superannuation, consulting, insurance, and manufacturing.
A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, an internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21) or a minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
