In this course student will take on independent research in area of interest, develop original concepts and test theories. Student will conduct specialized business IT research in: Digital economy, IT policy, e-health, mobile technologies, human - computer interaction (HCI) , green IT, systems evaluation and modelling, knowledge management, supply chain and logistics research. RMITs College of Business has an interest in HCI and in various aspects of information management. During the Master of Business program student will develop a thorough understanding of specialization and make a significant contribution of knowledge to the field. The Doctor of Philosophy takes to the next level and requires to complete a more substantial and rigorous thesis.

One of the following: Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Research degree or equivalent, Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Coursework degree or equivalent WITH a research component graded as a distinction (GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00), Successful completion of an Australian Bachelor (Honours) degree graded as first or second class (over 70% or GPA of 3.00 out of 4.00).Entry into a Research program at RMIT is not based solely on academic achievement and applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements to be considered for candidature.

In addition to completing an approved program of subjects within an accredited course, there may be additional criteria to meet professional requirements: for example some organisations require completion of a period professional experience in order to gain full membership.
