This is a graduate diploma designed for those who wish to undertake a few units of study at postgraduate level in a particular area in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.A Graduate diploma is available in the following areas: Art History, English, Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies, History, Holocaust Studies and Social Policy.Candidates who have satisfied the requirements for the award of Graduate Diploma may apply to upgrade to the Masters course in the same sequence, provided that their results are of sufficient merit.
Basic study of history.
In this course the major studies include few units of study at postgraduate level in a particular area in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.Currently, available areas of study for the Graduate Certificate in Arts include: Art History, English, Hebrew, Biblical and Jewish Studies, History, Holocaust Studies and Social Policy.
Admission to candidature for the Graduate Diploma in Arts requires:(a) completion of the requirements for the Graduate Certificate in Arts with a minimum credit (65%) average, or equivalent qualification or (b) a bachelor’s degree with a minimum credit (60%) average, from the University of Sydney, including a major in a relevant subject area in the humanities or social sciences, or an equivalent qualification. 
Graduates become eligible for membership with the following professional bodies:National Accreditation Authority for Translators and Interpreters at the first Professional level (formerly NAATI level 3).
The Graduate Diploma in Arts is an advanced learning qualification in a chosen specialisation that may qualify graduates for further study or research opportunities in the subject area, or enhance career opportunities with employers who value the outstanding analytical, communications, interpersonal and problem-solving skills of humanities and social sciences postgraduates.The Graduate Diploma in Arts allows students to gain a postgraduate degree specialising in a particular field. Career opportunities depend upon which subject area is chosen for the Masters.
