This program provides a foundation for advancing and understanding of Asian politics, history and culture, as well as contemporary international relations.

Major studies includes an understanding of the social and business dynamics of the region. Students will also be encouraged to develop career and research skills. With much of the world’s social and economic growth occurring in Asia, this course will give insights into Asian culture, society, religion, history, politics, environment, communication and business organisations, which are relevant to future careers.Asian Studies is offered as part of the Bachelor of Arts. Students can enhance studies with a secondary major or choose from a range of elective units to support career goals.
After pursuing this course from Griffith university students can expect to advance employment opportunities in a range of organizations and occupations related to Asian studies and international relations. These include policy, consultancy and management positions in business with international links, government, especially in diplomacy, strategic analysis, trade relations, and international cultural contacts, news and media organizations non-government organizations, including international aid and environmental organizations.
A minimum score of 575 on TOEFL, internet-based (iBT) TOEFL score of 88 (no score less than 21), a minimum overall band score of 6.5 on IELTS (Academic) with no sub-score of less than 6.0.
