In this course student will undertake communications and media research through thesis writing, practice or project-based. Student can pursue research in: cultural studies, media studies, advertising, public relations and public information campaigns, graphic design, communication design, media design, interaction design, journalism, political communication, organizational communication, Asian media and culture, transcultural communication , new communications technologies, cinema studies, media and cultural policy, news studies, communications history, community and alternative media, philosophy and communication , communications and cultural theory.
One of the following: Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Research degree or equivalent, Successful completion of an Australian Masters by Coursework degree or equivalent WITH a research component graded as a distinction (GPA of 3.00 out of
Undertaking communications and media research through thesis writing, practice or project-based is included as major concept of study.
Entry into a Research program at RMIT is not based solely on academic achievement and applicants must meet the following minimum academic requirements to be considered for candidature.
The students pursuing this degree,The Doctor of Philosophy (Communication Studies) is accredited and approved by the Chartered Institute of Public Relations (CIPR) and students are eligible for student membership. Recognition by the professional body is an assurance of the high professional standard and credibility of this corporate communication course.
