In this course student will develop a unique range of skills and knowledge relevant to the health industry in one of this programs two streams, health promotion or health information management. The program includes an industry-based project ensuring that student is ready to work in industry. In the health promotion stream, Student will learn to promote positive health outcomes to individuals and communities. In the health information management stream, Student will learn how communications and information technology can enhance patient outcomes in the health system.
Mathematics.
In this course major studies include development of knowledge relevant to the health industry in one of this programs two streams, health promotion or health information management. Student will also study tips and tacts of how communications and information technology can enhance patient outcomes in the health system.
Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 50%. For information on international qualifications and corresponding entry requirements that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12, see the Entry requirements by country web page.Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.
Health promotion stream:- RMIT is applying for recognition with the Australian Health Promotion Association (AHPA) to enable graduates to obtain professional membership. Health information management stream:-RMIT is applying to Health Information Management Association of Australia Limited (HIMAA) for recognition of the Associate Degree in Health Sciences.
Graduates of the health promotion stream find work in: government departments, local governments, community health centres, aged care agencies, health promotion organisations. Graduates of the health information management stream may become qualified clinical coders and find work in public and private hospitals, government health departments or health insurance companies.
2 years full-time or 4 years part-time, International student visa holders can only study full-time.
