This program is not available to first year students - instead student should consider the Bachelor of Health Science/Bachelor of Applied Science (Chiropractic).This program is available for second or third year students with advanced standing. Advanced standing will be conferred if student completed at least 1 year of study in a Chiropractic program accredited by the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia or an international equivalent. Our program has been a leader in the chiropractic industry since 1975. Chiropractors are trained to diagnose and manage patients who present for care. The chiropractic philosophy describes the relationship between the spine and nervous system and how this impacts the entire body, restoring and preserving optimal wellbeing.Chiropractors perform appropriate patient assessment procedures and then use their highly developed manual skills to treat the patient. Patient management often includes advice on nutrition, exercise, posture and other lifestyle adaptations. It may also include referring patients to other health care providers. RMIT is the only university in Victoria and one of only 3 in Australia that offer a chiropractic degree program. Graduates can go on to the Master of Clinical Chiropractic program in order to qualify as chiropractors.

Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 70%. For information on international qualifications and corresponding entry requirements that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12, see the Entry requirements by country web page.Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.
RMIT is a member institution of the Council on Chiropractic Education Australasia (Inc), which accredits the bachelor and the 2-year master programs. To become a registered chiropractor student need to finish this 3-year undergraduate program and the 2-year master. Graduates are eligible for membership with the New Zealand Chiropractors Registration Board, the General Chiropractic Council (Britain) and various state and provincial jurisdictions in the USA, Canada and Hong Kong.
Opportunities are plentiful in Australasia and in certain overseas locations for either private, self-employed chiropractic practice or practice in a multidisciplinary setting. RMIT chiropractic graduates are leaders in the profession in Australia and are well represented in other countries, including New Zealand, Scotland, Ireland, England, Canada, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Japan.
