RMIT specialises in clinical psychology. This program offers student the necessary training to become a professional psychologist. It is oriented towards cognitive-behavioural psychology and student will be trained and expected to work according to the scientist-professional model.

Major studies focuses on the study of individuals, including their behaviors, thought processes and emotions, critical thinking and problem solving necessary to evaluate behavior, and the application of theoretical principles to inter- and intra-personal issues.
Completion of an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent plus fourth year of study in psychology or its equivalent - approved by Australian Psychological Accreditation Council (APAC) with a minimum 75% average.
Student’s will be eligible for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and associate membership of the APS College of Clinical Psychologists.Student will also be eligible to apply for registration with the Psychology Board of Australia. Registration will allow student to practice in any Australian state or territory. Specialist endorsement as a clinical psychologist is possible after 2 years of supervised practice.
Clinical psychologists are specialists in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of psychological problems and mental illness. Student will get opportunity to work in: private practices, hospitals, universities, general medical practices, community health centres , mental health services.
2 years full-time or 4 years part-time, International student visa holders can only study full-time.
