With a combination of in-depth studies in chemistry, analytical science and chemical engineering courses, this program will put students at the forefront of developing new and established technologies that could change the world. Students will have a better understanding of the requirements of team members from both specialties and interact with a wide range of relevant industries to broaden career prospects.
Higher Mathematics and Chemistry, or VCE Mathematical Methods (CAS) and Chemistry.
Gaining of in-depth knowledge of studies in chemistry, analytical science and chemical engineering is involved as a pivotal point.
Student must have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 or an equivalent senior secondary school qualification with a minimum average of 70%.For information on international qualifications and corresponding entry requirements that are equivalent to an Australian Year 12, see the Entry requirements by country web page.Equivalent qualifications may also include completion of the RMIT Foundation Studies program or a recognised post secondary diploma in the relevant discipline with the required grades.
This program is recognised by the Royal Australian Chemical Institute, Engineers Australia and the Institution of Chemical Engineers (IChemE), UK.
Students will be typically employed in industries like oil and gas, food, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, agricultural chemicals and polymers, in Australia, and can find work in the process design sector, developing production processes from lab to large-scale. Students will also be well placed to take leadership roles in the development and commercialization of new chemical products.
5 years full-time, International student visa holders can only study full-time.
