Combined, the Corporate Information Management and Librarianship majors lead to a professionally recognised qualification in librarianship, archives and records management.Through a combination of hands-on industry experience, practical project work and critical thinking, you will be taught to evaluate client information needs so you can offer future employers an expert level of information literacy.Students will also learn the foundations of information creation and management, and how to locate, evaluate and manage information for a organisation, including print ,online,documents, records,social media, research data, corporate knowledge.
At least English 2A/2B, Literature 2A/2B or English as an Additional Language/Dialect 2A/2B.
In this course the major studies include the foundations of information creation and management as well as how to locate ,evaluate and manage information for a organisation including the fields such as print,online,documents and research data etc.
Graduates are provided with three career paths - librarianship, records management and archives - with the course being accredited by the relevant professional associations.In an information-rich world, the management, evaluation and transfer of information are major growth areas. There is strong demand for a workforce with advanced skills in information management and organisation.This major, together with the Librarianship major, is accredited by the Australian Library and Information Association, RIM Professionals Australasia (RIMPA) and the Australian Society of Archivists.
High achieving students may complete an additional honours year enabling them to undertake their own significant research project.This course can help students to become a Librarian ,Records Manager ,Archivist,Information Management,Document Management,Knowledge Management,data management.
