The professional outlook of this course focuses on the different aspects of history in which the researching subjects such as local history, history of origin and transport history are collected and sorted in the form of set of information on the basis of professional skills and background knowledge to interpret that information and place it in historical context.

This course is accredited by the Australian Council of Professional Historians Associations (ACPHA).
The historians work either as employees in an organisation, as contractors or as consultants the opportunities may arise in government bodies, museums, archives, in heritage practice. State and territory Professional Historians Associations also publicise employment opportunities for their members.
